Pelican’s Restaurant is a classic seafood restaurant, reminiscent of the Northeast region of the United States. It has a great selection of seafood dishes that are sure to delight. During our food photography session, our goal was to capture this food in a way that was fitting for the level of sophistication required. This shot focused on the lobster tail.
What to Expect
There are several key steps to a successful food photography session, which I will highlight below.
- Preparation: Before any food photography session it is important to have a consultation to convey specific goals and direction for your project. This is a crucial step in ensuring the outcome falls within the expectations.
- It is often helpful to collect samples of images that you feel do and do not accomplish the project’s direction, and try to articulate why you feel that they do or do not work.
- Ensure that the food is fresh and prepared with extra care.
Overall, a food photography session is a unique opportunity to spotlight your product uniquely to make it stand out from the crowd.
